Persuasive texts are all around us - and for our students they often consume these persuasive texts on screens daily. With Social Media Detectives, you will bring the real world into the classroom. The Case Studies students examine in this lesson are heavily inspired by three popular brands who target their young audience in the most effective way possible - through social media.
Students examine three social media Case Studies, dissecting the persuasive techniques wielded to captivate minds, stir emotions, and ultimately persuade. This lesson covers call to actions, urgency and exclusivity, persuasive language, emphasis, competitions and the use of hashtags and emojis, to name a few!
